Let's break down the science behind the filter paper, why the difference impacts your engine, and how you can tell them apart in seconds—no lab equipment required.


What's the Difference?

The terms "full glue" and "half glue" refer to how the filter paper fibers are bonded together.

Full Glue Paper (OEM Grade / High-Performance)

  • Composition: Made from pure wood pulp bonded with pure resin (glue).

  • How it works: The resin forms a stable, mesh-like structure that holds the fibers together permanently.

  • Key properties: It is highly water-resistant. It does not swell or deform when exposed to moisture. This means the pore size stays consistent, ensuring both high filtration efficiency and good airflow—exactly what an engine needs whether it's idling or running at full throttle.

Half Glue Paper (Budget / Economy Grade)
